Before the start of the Door Community Auditorium’s (DCA) season in late June, the DCA will be doing everything it can to ensure that patrons will be safe and comfortable during performances. DCA offices will be closed to the public during the Gibraltar School closure through May 5.
Beyond health and safety protocols, the DCA team wishes to keep delivering on its mission of entertaining and challenging through a balanced combination of performing, visual and literary arts. Through April 4, DCA and local artists, poets, pastors and storytellers will provide a series of online, remotely live-streamed segments featuring four universal healing salves: dancing, singing, storytelling and silence. These free segments are available to all DCA Facebook followers.
A typical day during the Door County Spring Training cultural programming will include a nondenominational, nonaffiliated meditation prompt or devotional at 6 am; sharing of Door County photographs and visual art at 8 am; storytelling, poetry reading and/or short stories at 10 am; a concert or virtual singalong at 2 pm; and the release of a new, 30-minute Spotify playlist to encourage DIY dance parties at 4 pm.
