Peninsula State Park will host its candlelight ski on Saturday, February 7, from 5:30 – 8 pm.
For this special event, a vehicle sticker or $5 special event sticker is required. Friends of Peninsula State Park will host a bonfire at the candlelight ski, and donations are appreciated and help fund winter trail maintenance. To find the evening’s festivities, go to Highland Road, one mile north of Fish Creek, at the intersection of Highway 42 and County Road A. Follow the signs to trailhead.
Dogs and hikers are not allowed at this candlelight ski; however, in case of no snow, the event will change to a hike that begins near park headquarters.
Winter conditions can change rapidly; call park headquarters at 920.868.3258 for current trail conditions.
Friends of Peninsula State Park will also host a centennial table at the Fish Creek Winter games on February 7 before the candlelight ski. It will be a chance to promote exciting centennial events planned for 2009. Stop by to check out new centennial canteens, water bottles and spiffy knit hats that feature the centennial logo. All proceeds support centennial events and publications.
