Door County Activities: Wintertime at Whitefish Dunes State Park

With the fresh snow, the groomed ski trails are open at Whitefish Dunes State Park. Nine miles of trails are groomed for classic diagonal stride skiing. Snowshoeing and hiking is available on the Black Trail and on the beach. The shelter building is available daily. Please call for updated trail conditions.

Mark your calendars for the annual Candlelight Ski on Saturday, January 31. The ski begins at 6 pm and lasts until 9 pm. Volunteers are needed to help set out and pick up candles, as well as to staff the shelter building refreshment table. Cooks in the crowd are welcome to provide home baked goodies for building energy for the ski. Contact the park for more information on how to help prepare for the event.

Whitefish Dunes State Park is located at 3275 Clark Lake Road (county WD), on the Lake Michigan shoreline south of Jacksonport.
