Door County Activity – A Hike in the Ridges Sanctuary’s Logan Creek

On Friday, September 26 or Saturday, September 27, enjoy a fall day by taking a leisurely hike through the Ridges Sanctuary’s Logan Creek Property. Led by Ridges Naturalist, Karen Newbern, the hikes feature a variety of habitats including deciduous forests and cedar swamps. The sugar maples and beeches will be displaying their fall colors and many wildflower species may be in bloom.

Both 90-minute hikes will begin at 1 pm. Participants should wear weather appropriate clothing and footwear. Meet at the Logan Creek parking area, 5724 Loritz Road, just south of Jacksonport. Please call the Sanctuary at 920.839.2802 to pre-register for either hike. Cost is $5 per adult, no charge for children under 18.

Trails are open to the public year round for a small fee. The Nature Store is open Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm, and Sundays, 11 am to 3 pm, through October 19. Naturalist-guided hikes in the Sanctuary are scheduled at 9:30 am, Wednesday through Saturday in September. In October, guided hikes are 9:30 am, Wednesday through Friday, through October 17.
