Door County Activity – Everyone is Welcome to a Ballroom Dance

A Masquerade Ball will be held on Saturday, November 22, from 6 – 10 pm, at the Baileys Harbor Town Hall. The public is welcome to join the organizers of this event, a group of amateur dancers. Dressing up in costume is not required, but appreciated. The cost is $10 per couple or $5 per single; also bring a dish to share and, if you wish, a bottle of wine. The fees will go towards renting the hall and providing soft drinks and supplies, such as plates and utensils.

This will be the third dance gathering of the informal group, who participated in dance lessons last winter. When the sessions ended, several couples decided to periodically continue with get-togethers, to socialize and practice their ballroom dancing. Dances learned in class included rumba, waltz, swing, foxtrot, and tango; and each informal dance has offered unofficial lessons. Although each occasion has a theme, a variety of dances are performed to all genres of music.
