Door County ADRC to Hold Guardianship Presentation April 24

The Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Door County will host a presentation about the process of establishing guardianship, what it means to have or be a guardian, and alternative options to guardianship. Jessica Trudell, managing attorney with the Guardianship Support Center of Wisconsin, will present about guardianship options, rights and responsibilities on April 24, 11 am, at ADRC, 916 N. 14th Ave., Sturgeon Bay. The presentation is coordinated by the Door County Coordinated Community on Transition, a group comprised of school personnel, area professionals and interested families that works to make the transition easier for students with exceptional needs to adulthood. While the presentation originated with the goal for parents to be more informed about options for their children approaching adulthood, the information will be pertinent for families that care for and professionals in the county that work with adults of any age that may need to consider guardianship as an option.
