Door County Art League Features Watercolorist Ruth Sandor

“Rooster,” watercolor, by Ruth Sandor.

Beginning June 13, the Gallery of the Door County Art League will host a weeklong exhibit for member Ruth Sandor.

Sandor draws inspiration for her watercolor paintings from a range of sources: Haiku poetry to native flowers or insects. Utilizing handmade Indian paper, she often includes both Latin and common names of her subjects on the piece. She credits several Door County artists for their positive influence on her work, including Connie Glowacki and Ed Fenendael.

The gallery is located in the Top of the Hill Shops in Fish Creek at Highway 42 and County F and is open daily, 10 am – 5 pm. Original art produced by League members are on display and available for sale at the gallery.
