Door County Art News: Holiday Features at the Craft Cottage

The Jacksonport Craft Cottage features many hand-crafted, beautifully-made items by local artists for holiday gift giving, and featured this month are the hand crafted dolls and ornaments by Dot Kurten.

Kurten has been creating her dolls and specialty holiday ornaments for the Jacksonport Craft Cottage for over 15 years. The detail and quality in her creations are unsurpassed, adding character and class to all her creations.

Her one-of-a-kind creations are prized collector pieces for guests, and her “Four Season Annies” are the highlight of many a doll collection. Just in are several Wintertyme Annies, as well as a Peace Tyme Annie – a new doll in her Annie series. Kurten’s miniature snowman and snowlady dolls, as well as her miniature Christmas stocking ornaments, are great for holiday decorating. Kurten also has a new line of glazed felt hanging snowmen ornaments.

The Jacksonport Craft Cottage, located on Hwy. 57 in downtown Jacksonport is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays November through April from 9 am – 5 pm or for special requested hours call 920.823.2288.
