Pipka is best known for her award-winning Santa, Madonna, and Angel figurines, but one of her newest passions is collage. Her shop, Pipka’s of Door County, features one-of-a-kind art that incorporates special papers, photographs, found items, antique buttons and more.

Pipka will be teaching a special one-day class on Saturday, November 8, on the art of collage and special “paper doll” art. Many of Pipka’s own pieces are three-dimensional, with doll skirts made from pleated paper or embellished with bits of lace, beads, and buttons. Her collages are on canvas, set into wooden trays, or as the tops of boxes. Each student will be encouraged to express his or her own personality.

As a self-taught artist, Pipka teaches from a learner’s point of view, making the process understandable and fun. Students can bring some of their own supplies – stamps, photos, found items, and papers – and will have the use Pipka’s state-of-the-art color copier and other supplies from her collection. The class fee is $75.

Class size is limited for one-on-one attention, and Pipka is confident that each student can create two unique collages by the end of the day. Call 920.854.4392 for more information and to reserve your spot.
