Door County Art Scene: Go Figure

“Go Figure,” an exhibit of artwork by the Sturgeon Bay Life Drawing Group is scheduled for February 13 and 14 in Sturgeon Bay. The show begins with an opening reception on Friday, February 13, from 6 – 8:30 pm and continues through Saturday, February 14, from 10 am – 5pm at 139 N. 3rd Avenue (above Small World Market).

The exhibit features drawings and paintings of the human form by area artists. The public has the opportunity to meet the artists at the reception. Refreshments will be served.

The Sturgeon Bay Life Drawing Group meets weekly to draw from a live model, subject matter that has interested artists throughout history. The sessions are open to artists from beginner to professional with requirements being the payment of a model fee and a sincere interest in figure study. The work on display will include the mediums of pencil, charcoal, pastel, pen and ink, acrylic and watercolor. The work ranges from small to large, from quick sketches to hour-long studies and is available for purchase.
