Door County Art Scene: SOUP! Bowl Making in January

Peninsula School of Art is inviting the public to create and decorate bowls for SOUP! on Saturday, January 3 and Saturday, January 17, from 10 am – 2 pm. All ages are welcome to hand-build a clay bowl or glaze pre-fired bisqueware – free of charge.

Finished bowls will be available for sale on Saturday, February 7 when the school holds its third annual SOUP! fundraising event. Proceeds from SOUP! benefit the hungry through Feed My People of Door County, as well as children’s art outreach programs in the community. From 11 am – 3 pm on that day, a complimentary soup lunch will be available for those who have purchased bowls.

According to Community Relations Director, Cinnamon Rossman, the four-month project is far-reaching – involving schools, churches and after school groups from throughout Door County.

“SOUP! enables the Art School to give to people in need in Door County while following our mission to provide art education through community outreach,” she says.
