Door County Artist Ed Fenendael Hosts a Workshop

This fall, Door County artist and teacher Ed Fenendael has planned a special workshop trip to Sicily.

“This is an incredible opportunity for the peninsula’s artists to join me in one of the world’s most beautiful places in the world,” said Fenendael. “This trip will be a combination of painting and travel; there will be plenty of time for leisure jaunts, as well as dipping the paintbrush.”

Scheduled to depart on November 2 and return November 12, the “Sicily in Watercolor” workshop will visit Taromina, Cefalu, Syracuse, Noto, and Palermo. An optional post trip includes Erice and Sicily’s western coast.

Fenendael is a member of the Peninsula School of Art faculty where he teaches courses each summer. He conducts workshops across the country and has already conducted European workshops in France, Italy, and Greece.

The recipient of many awards, Fenendael was named a Top 100 Artist in 1998 and Door County Artist of the Year in 2008. His watercolors have been exhibited in France and the Watergate Gallery in Washington D.C. Future workshop locations include China and Argentina.

Fenendael’s gallery, Morning Mist Studio, is located at Windmill Farm, 3829 Fairview Road, Baileys Harbor and is open to the public Friday through Sunday, May 21 – October 17. For more information call 920.868.9282 or visit http://www.watercolorexcitement.com.
