Door County Artist’s Bob Dylan Banners to Hang at Museum of Wisconsin Art

“Shakespeare’s in the Alley: A Tribute to Bob Dylan” banners by Skye. Submitted.

Door County artist Skye’s artistic tribute to American icon Bob Dylan will be on display at the Museum of Wisconsin Art (MOWA) from Jan. 28 through March 5. Recipient of the 2016 Nobel Prize in Literature, songwriter and performer Dylan has had a brilliant career for more than half a century. Skye has created a text-based installation, Shakespeare’s in the Alley: A Tribute to Bob Dylan, that honors his creative genius. The lyrics of some of Dylan’s best-known songs are reproduced on large banners hung throughout the museum’s atrium. The content of the words combines with the visual hangings to create an immersive spatial experience.

The opening party for the exhibit is scheduled for Jan. 28, 2 – 5 pm, at the museum, 205 Veterans Ave., West Bend. For more information, visit wisconsinart.org. For more on Skye, visit bazylistudio.com.
