The 2013 Lakeshore Natural Resources Partnership (LNRP) calendar, produced by the Water’s Edge Artists (WEA) plein air painting group, will include the artwork of local Door County artists Madonna Siles and Karen Lee DeNoto.
“Celebrate the Sun,” an oil pastel by Siles, and “Spring has Sprung,” an oil painting by DeNoto, will also be displayed at the 5th Annual Juried Visions of Water Exhibit at the Rahr-West Art Museum in Manitowoc. The exhibit, which features all of the calendar art, is open to the public. A free wine and cheese reception will be held Oct. 7, 1 – 4 pm, and the exhibit runs through Nov. 4.
Proceeds from the calendar sales go to LNRP for the waterways protection and restoration projects. In addition, WEA donates a portion of the painting sales from the exhibit to LNRP.
Siles’s art can be seen at Alley Katz Boutique, Sturgeon Bay, and the Door County Art League Gallery, Fish Creek. DeNoto’s artwork is on display at Greco Gallery on 3rd Avenue in Sturgeon Bay.
