Door County Artists & Non-profits Help Cover Community Needs

Five Door County artists and five non-profits are helping cover community needs through umbrellas. Linger Coffee House in Fish Creek will kick off the Memorial Day weekend by unveiling five hand-painted patio umbrellas crafted by Door County artists and Gibraltar Middle School students. The large patio umbrellas will be displayed and in use from May 24 through the July 4th Weekend, at which time they will be available for purchase. Each of the five artists will donate a portion of the sales to benefit five local charities throughout Door County.

Susan Reinfeldt, owner of Linger Coffee House, said, “I’ve been coming to Door County since I was a child. I wanted to create awareness of the myriad of needs in our community. The umbrella project symbolizes protection and care – just what I hope we can offer each other, and what the artists are offering through their contribution to their respective charities.”

The artists and charities include Roxanne Hanney/ Door County Humane Society, Liz Heller/the Northern Door YMCA, Rick Brawner/Door County Land Trust, Kim Rosploch/Good Samaritan Society-Scandia Village and Emily Salm and the Gibraltar Middle School art students/Gibraltar Middle School art program.
