Door County Artist’s Work Chosen for Set of “Desperate Housewives”

Sturgeon Bay artist Tim Nyberg has had one of his abstracts chosen to decorate the set of ABC’s Desperate Housewives. The painting, “Rusted Nova,” is an abstract painted to live jazz at Nyberg’s G42 (Gallery 42). The original is a square 13” acrylic on canvas. The reproduction chosen for the show will be 40″x40″ printed on stretched canvas.

Nyberg shows and sells his art online at and on the Fine Art America website which offers an ABC/Disney licensing program through which this painting was selected. Compensation for the art is the purchase price of the reproduction and a licensing fee allowing for usage on the show.

“It’s not a lot, but it does offer some pretty cool bragging rights and looks good on the resume,” said Nyberg.

Locally, Nyberg shows his work at The Flying Pig in Algoma, J Jeffrey Taylor in Fish Creek and at many area businesses including the Blue Front Cafe in Sturgeon Bay.

Nyberg will be participating in the Sturgeon Bay Spring Art Studio Crawl taking place May 13-15 where he will be displaying “Rusted Nova” (the original is still available) along with hundreds of other original paintings at the Fairfield Building’s first floor gallery.
