The new Door County Arts Guild Gallery (DCAGG, doorcountyartsguildgallery.com) will host a grand opening Aug. 3, 3-7 pm. Six featured artists will be on hand to discuss their work, and each will exhibit a selection of work especially for this opening. Door County wines will also be served.
Longtime Door County artists Brain Pier and Patty Degenhardt both maintain their own gallery in addition to DCAGG representation. Pier earned first place in the 2015 American Art Awards’ Impressionist Landscape division for “Monterey Harbor,” an oil painting that will be on exhibit and offered for sale. Degenhardt works in ceramics and mixed media.
Ann Perrizo is an established artist who creates three-dimensional art. Nancy Wallschlaeger paints in oil and specializes in animals, especially cows. Seth Taylor uses an Asian ink-brush style to create stylized animals that appear to jump from the page. And Sheila Grace O’Grady is an established photographer of both landscape features and everyday objects.
A drawing for Pier’s original, framed oil painting titled “The Edith M. Becker” (or a $500 certificate to be used as disclosed on the entry form) will be held at the conclusion of the event. Visit DCAGG, 6709 Hwy 42 in Egg Harbor, to complete an entry form.
