Door County Brewing Hosting Holiday Fundraiser Party

Door County Brewing Company is celebrating the season of generosity in its signature style with a LumberJack and LumberJill Holiday Party featuring Door County’s own WiFEE and THE HUZz BAND on Dec. 10.

Aside from inviting guests to don their most creative lumberjack and lumberjill outfits for a chance to win prizes while listening to festive songs from the band’s 2015 holiday release, the party will raise funds and awareness for two Door County nonprofits: Door County Secret Santa, and Chop ‘N Shop with a Cop.

“We were just trying to figure out things to do in the off-season that we could draw in a crowd and when we got to talking about December, I said, ‘Let’s do something really big and fun in December but let’s have a fundraiser to go with it,’” said Angie McMahon, Door County Brewing Co.’s general manager.

Door County Secret Santa helps area families with heating needs during the holiday season, whether it’s providing a tank of propane, cords of wood, a new water heater or anonymously paying an electric bill.

Chop ‘N Shop with a Cop is a collaborative effort between the Door County Sheriff’s Department, Sturgeon Bay Police Department, Wisconsin DNR and the Door County Sheriff’s Department Dispatch Center that pairs children with a local law enforcement officer to pick out a Christmas tree and shop for gifts for the children’s families.

The brewery is selling raffle tickets for approximately $1,800 worth of Door County Brewing Co. prizes and prize packages, including clothing, beer, signs, and a custom wooden growler holder with two growlers and free monthly fill-ups for a year.

Raffle tickets are $10 and $20 and can be purchased at the brewery, by phone or email now through the end of the holiday party Dec. 10. Raffle winners will be announced after the band plays, and winners need not be present. At the conclusion of the holiday party, proceeds from the raffle ticket sales will be divided evenly and presented to the two organizations.

“We kind of wanted to do something that was a real need, like the heating situation or the electric situation, but also something that was a part of the season and then the kids, maybe they’re not going to have something so this gives them a chance,” McMahon said.

The LumberJack and LumberJill fundraiser takes place on Saturday, Dec. 10. Music starts at 7 pm. Door County Brewing Co. is located at 2434 County Road F, Baileys Harbor. To purchase tickets, stop by the brewery, email [email protected] or call 920.839.1515.
