Door County residents are invited to rid their households of hazardous wastes during a two-day Clean Sweep to be held at the Sister Bay/Liberty Grove Fire Station from 3:30-5:30 pm Friday, Nov. 2, and from 8 to 10 am Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Door County Highway Dept. at 1001 S. Duluth Ave., Sturgeon Bay. You can bring aerosol cans, bug sprays, floor care products, metal and furniture polish, oven and drain cleaners, disinfectants, non-automotive batteries, gasoline, brake fluid, auto repair products, oil-based paints, cleaners, paint thinner and stripper, antifreeze, chemical fertilizer, herbicides and fungicides, rat poison, moth balls, pool chemicals, photo chemicals and up to 10 fluorescent bulbs per resident. Do not bring auto batteries, tires, latex paint, medical waste, propane cylinders, ammunition, commercial waste, computer or electronic components, or motor oil.
