Door County Community Grant Opens Doors for Student Loan Debt and Financial Aid Letter Counseling

Thanks in part to a grant from the Door County Community Foundation’s Sustainability Grant, starting in 2017, Money Management Counselors powered by FI$C, will provide certified student loan debt counseling and financial aid award letter interpretation for prospective post-secondary students and students of all ages carrying student loan debt and/or Parent PLUS loan debt from any source. Gay Pustaver, director, has been certified as a Consumer Credit Counselor by the National Foundation for Credit Counseling since 1995 and in 2016, was one of the first 50 people in the country to become certified by the same entity as a Student Loan Debt Counselor. In addition, Pustaver worked for 10 years as a financial aid administrator in both public and private colleges.

Money Management Counselors/ FI$C would also like to announce they have a “Student Loan Debt Solutions” portal on their website, moneymanagementcounselors.com. With this tool, people can learn about student loan debt repayment options for their types of loans and get a printout of those options. The one-time cost is $39.95 and clients may also bring the report in to a counseling session and receive further 1-1 assistance if necessary.
