This fall, Brian and Jeanee Linden of Ellison Bay are offering two theme tours at their centre in China, the Linden Centre.

The first program, “A Photo Journey in Yunnan with Alison Wright” is scheduled for October 20 – November 2. Acclaimed photographer Alison Wright, represented by National Geographic and Corbis, will lead guests on an adventure to discover how to capture beautiful landscapes and moments on film. In addition to residing at the Linden Centre, this program will lead participants through the UNESCO world heritage site, Lijiang and the Tibetan region of Shangri-La.

Janice Thomas of the Savory Spoon, a seasonal cooking school in Ellison Bay, will lead the second tour, “Adventures in a Chinese Kitchen.” From November 4 – 16, Thomas will lead participants through the culinary roots of southwest China. Aside from experiencing exotic and worldly cuisine, participants will also be immersed in the Chinese culture.

The Linden Centre, founded by Brian and Jeanee Linden in 2007, began with the mission of restoring a landmark residence to its former glory and offers guests a true cultural immersion experience. The Linden Centre in China has received Best Boutique Hotel in China 2009-10 by Sina.com and was rated Top Hotel in China during April 2010 on Trip Advisor, the popular Travel Review site. The 2010 Frommers China Guidebook has written that the Centre is “perhaps one of the best restoration projects conducted in all of China.”
