Door County Entertainment: AFT Presents “Home for the Holidays”

American Folklore Theatre (AFT) is excited to announce that Home for the Holidays with AFT will return to Old Gibraltar Town Hall in Fish Creek from December 27 – 31. This year longtime AFT performers Chris Irwin and Eric Lewis will take the stage for this festive event that is fast becoming a Door County tradition. Home for the Holidays adds a winter chapter to AFT’s calendar, which already features several summer and fall shows each year. All performances are scheduled for 7:30 pm except for the December 31 show, which will take place at 4 pm. There will be an additional matinee performance at 4 pm on December 28.

The holiday show will include a variety of traditional holiday music, including a sing-along of carols led by Irwin and Lewis. The duo will also perform songs from past AFT shows. As a special holiday treat, each show will also feature a drawing for gift certificates to local businesses.

Between the two of them, Chris Irwin and Eric Lewis have performed in over a dozen shows at AFT, including Lumberjacks in Love, Guys on Ice, Old Friends, Goodnight Irene: The Music of the Weavers, Fish and Whistle: The Songs of John Prine. Irwin and Lewis are accomplished multi-instrumentalists, singers, and composers in their own right and play frequently at venues in Door County and throughout the country. Irwin, who is now based in California, recently released his first solo CD, Find My Keys. Lewis, based in Memphis, has recently released CDs with Tommy Burroughs and Doc Heide. In 2003, he was named the Premier String Player Award by the Memphis Chapter of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.

Tickets for Home for the Holidays are $17 for adults and $11 for children. Advance tickets are available by calling 920.854.6117, visiting http://www.FolkloreTheatre.com, or by stopping in the AFT office, which is located at the Green Gables Shops in North Ephraim.
