Door County Event – Travelogue Film Series Features “My California Adventure”

Yosemite National Park, one of many attractions showcased in “My California Adventure.”

The Kiwanis Club of Northern Door will host the next program in their Travelogue film series on Friday, November 14 at 7:30 pm at the First Baptist Church of Sister Bay. The film, My California Adventure, features the natural wonders, scenic attractions, and historic points of interest of the Golden State as seen through the eyes of Rudi Thurau as he bicycles throughout the state.

Thurau, the producer and presenter, who has rafted the Amazon, crossed America in a hot air balloon, and spent three years filming California’s natural wonders, narrates the film. The film features the American River, the tramway of Palm Springs, the Napa wine country, the Pacific Coast, Mt. Whitney, and Death Valley.

“I’ve traveled to many places on this planet, and I was amazed at the diversity of California’s landscape, which seems to replicate many of the world’s tourist destinations,” Thurau said.

Other highlights of the adventure include Hollywood, the ghost town of Bodie, the Redwood Forest, Monterey Auditorium, and Hearst’s Castle.

Show admission is $7 or $36 for a six-ticket pass that is valid for admission to any of the films in the 2008 – 2009 film lineup. Tickets may be purchased at the door. Children under 18 are admitted free; refreshments will be available during intermission. For more information, please contact Gary at 920.854.4825.
