Door County Festival: Peninsula School of Art Hosts 3rd Annual SOUP! Event

A bountiful soup-and-bread buffet awaits those who buy handmade ceramic bowls in support of the third annual SOUP! Project at Peninsula School of Art, 3900 County F in Fish Creek, on Saturday, February 7 from 11 am – 3 pm. The event benefits Feed My People of Door County and the school’s youth art outreach programs.

A $15 donation provides participants with an original bowl of their choosing and unlimited servings of soups and breads courtesy of local restaurants and volunteers. The public is also invited to participate in family-friendly art activities, without additional charge, as Peninsula School of Art celebrates the work of 20th century masters in “We LOVE Art: 100 Years of Art” in its Guenzel Gallery.

SOUP! is a four-month project, made possible through the input of schools, churches, volunteers, after school groups, and those who participate in “Family Days” at Peninsula School of Art. Hundreds of hours are involved in the process of hand-building bowls, loading and unloading kilns for both the initial bisque and final glaze firings, as well as the creation of homemade breads and soups.

SOUP! is supported in part with funds from Thrivent Financial, Door County Chapter.
