Occupation: Pipefitter at Bay Ship

Home Course: Cherry Hills

Handicap: 9

Best 18-hole score: 74

You grew up playing golf at Peninsula State Park, what’s your favorite memory from The Park?

Too many to list. Probably the views on some of the holes at The Park but if I had to choose a shot it would be holing out in the rain on hole 11 from 150 yards for an eagle.

You are an accomplished bowler, which sport is harder to master, bowling or golf?

To me it would be golf because of the weather conditions; golf you have wind to factor in shots and with bowling you are inside and the climate is controlled. Plus, with bowling I started at a young age and was very serious about becoming a good bowler and practiced a lot. In bowling I set goals for myself and I’ve done the same for golf. But for me to meet those goals I need to practice more at golf like I did with bowling.

Nicest Golf Course Ever Played: Whistling Straits-Straits Course. I’ve played a lot of nice courses around the state such as Erin Hills and Northern Bay but to me that is the nicest.

Favorite Golfer: Tom Watson

Fantasy Foursome: Tom Watson, Phil Mickelson & Arnold Palmer

What’s in the bag: Titleist D3 Driver, TaylorMade Burner Irons, Hurricane Putter

Strengths: Not many! I would say that I’m a pretty good putter and good at scrambling.

Weaknesses: Short-game such as chipping needs work

Golf Tip to Share: Keep head down and follow through on golf shots, and don’t try to kill the ball.

When not playing golf, Carl can be found: At home with my family.
