The Door County Community Foundation is inviting local charities to submit grant applications for support from the Door County Green Fund.
“Door County is blessed with an abundance of natural resources,” said Bret Bicoy, President & CEO of the Community Foundation. “From our lakeshore to the wetlands, our orchards to the meadows, the open spaces and our rural roads – there is something about the beauty of this place that keeps us here or calls us back each year.”
The Green Fund is one of several granting programs at the Community Foundation. It also offers grants to charities out of its Arts Fund, Health and Human Needs Fund, Education Fund, Children and Youth Fund, Historic Preservation Fund, Women’s Fund and many others.
The Community Foundation is looking for applications from both traditional environmental organizations and non-environmental charities with ideas on how they might incorporate an environmentally conscious perspective into their work.
Green Fund materials may be downloaded from the Green Fund website at http://www.greenfund.com. Applications and supporting materials must be received at the Community Foundation by Tuesday, September 20.
