Local charities are invited by the Door County Community Foundation to submit grant applications for support from the Door County Green Fund.
“Door County is blessed with an abundance of natural resources,” says Bret Bicoy, President & CEO of the Community Foundation. “From our lakeshore to the wetlands, our orchards to the meadows, the open spaces and our rural roads – there is something about the beauty of this place that keeps us here or calls us back each year.”
The Community Foundation is looking for applications from both traditional environmental organizations and non-environmental charities with ideas on how they might incorporate an environmentally conscious perspective into their work.
Green Fund materials may be downloaded from the Green Fund website at http://www.greenfund.com. Applications and supporting materials must be received at the Community Foundation by September 18.
“These grants are only possible because of the remarkable support of the people of Door County,” says Bicoy. “The Green Fund provides a specialized avenue for people to contribute who are concerned about the protection of Door County’s environment and, therefore, its economy.”
