Spooky season comes but once a year, so don your favorite costume and make the most of it at these events. Here’s a glance at upcoming Halloween events for the young and young at heart. 

Ghost Ship 

Oct. 28, 5-8 pm

Docked at Sawyer Park Pier, South Neenah Avenue in Sturgeon Bay

Tour the haunted ship, and donate nonperishable food items to a local food bank.

Jack o’ Lantern Days

Oct. 29, all day

Throughout Fish Creek

Kids’ party, 1-4 pm, in Clark Park, with a costume contest and costume march. Trick-or-treating around town, 2-4 pm. Make a mask at Peninsula School of Art; walk Fish Creek Park’s haunted trail (6-8 pm); and find one of five glass pumpkins by Burnt Bluff Stone and Glass hidden around town.

Thrills and Chills

Oct. 29, 10 am – 1 pm

Downtown Sturgeon Bay

Make your own treat bags; walk in a costume parade; and venture through a haunted house. 

Husby’s Halloween Party

Oct. 29, 11 pm

Husby’s Food & Spirits, 10641 N. Bay Shore Dr. in Sister Bay

Enter the costume contest, with prizes for first, second and third place. 

Haunted Mask Workshop

Oct. 29, 1 pm

Make a spooky mask.

Kids’ Costume Party

Kitty O’Reilly’s, 59 E. Oak St. in Sturgeon Bay

Dance to DJ music and decorate Halloween cookies. Proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Sturgeon Bay.

Trunk or Treat

Oct. 29, 1:15 pm

Bay View Lutheran Church, 340 W. Maple St. in Sturgeon Bay

Put on your favorite costume; find your largest treat bucket; and go collect Halloween goodies. Share the treats by adding to the “gratitude gourds.”

Haunted Hike

Oct. 29, 5-7 pm

The Ridges Sanctuary, 8166 Hwy 57 in Baileys Harbor

Grab a flashlight to explore the family-friendly Halloween stations along the Hidden Brook boardwalk. 

HELP of Door County Halloween Fundraiser

Oct. 29, 6 pm

Maxwelton Braes Lodge, 7670 Hwy 57 in Baileys Harbor

Don a costume, and dance the night away for a good cause. The cost of $100 per person (or $600 for a table of eight) includes dinner.

Spooktacular Halloween Party

Oct. 29, 6-10 pm; costume contest, 8-9 pm

Dress in your scariest costume to dance, enjoy cocktails and admire the spooktacular decorations. The Charmless Few will be playing party rock tunes all night.

Halloween Fun

Costumes are encouraged as you enjoy a petting zoo with animals dressed in their Halloween best (10 am – 12 pm); trick-or-treating (10 am until the treats are gone); a food truck; and a special guest: The Wicked Witch of Kolberg! She’ll take photos with guests for donations to Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Door County.

Howl-o-Ween Barkin’ Brunch

Dog costume contest. Support the Wisconsin Humane Society Door County Campus by buying dog and human treats. The cost is $25 per person.
