Door County History in Photos

When there were county schools in each of the towns, all the students went to Sturgeon Bay for graduation at the high school and then walked over to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church to have a group photo taken. This photo is of the 1956 graduating class. An interesting note is that this only included the county schools not the city schools, which caused a bit of jealousy among city kids because nothing special was done for them at graduation.
