Door County Humane Society Featured Pets

It was another record year for the Door County Humane Society: animal intakes increased by 16.5 percent. Also, the number of animals in the shelter’s care increased from 669 in 2009 to 779 last year.

A featured pet at the shelter is Buddy, a 5-6 month old neutered Australian Shepherd/Beagle mix. Embodying all the fun of both breeds, he is a rambunctious guy full of personality. A fenced yard is a must for Buddy, and he’d love to bond with a new family by taking an obedience class together. Buddy’s blue-eyed sister, Lily is also available for adoption.

Vermont is a lithe and lively tortoiseshell cat who arrived at DCHS in August in very pregnant condition. Vermont has been spayed and is 3-5 years old.

Adoption costs are $85 for cats and kittens, $120 for dogs, and $60 for puppies. The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 Park Drive (County PD)
in Sturgeon Bay, is open for adoption Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
from noon – 4 pm. For more information call 920.746.1111 or visit http://www.dooranimals.com.
