Door County Humane Society Featured Pets

Sophie

For more than three years, these two girls have watched from their lobby perches as hundreds of cat pals were adopted. Their stories are quite different, but in 2013, it’s time for Anora and Sophie to find their respective forever homes. Anora is a short-hair black sweetie, born in August 2009 who arrived at the shelter as a stray in January 2010. Her friend Sophie is a 10-year-old, long-haired, front declawed beauty surrendered in March 2010 when her previous owner passed away. As DCHS lobby residents, both Anora and Sophie are comfortable around many other cats and human visitors, so we are confident they would adapt easily in their new homes. As an adoption guarantee shelter, the Door County Humane Society will continue to care for Anora, Sophie, and all the animals here until the perfect new owners find them. All DCHS animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and micro-chipped. Cat adoption fee is $90; dog adoption fee is $120.

The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 Park Drive (County PD) in Sturgeon Bay, is open for adoption Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon to 4 pm. For more information call 920.746.1111, visit http://www.dooranimals.com or “like” the Door County Humane Society on Facebook.

The Confirmation Class at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Baileys Harbor, is hosting a Valentine Spaghetti Dinner to benefit DCHS on Saturday, Feb. 9, 4:30-7:30 pm. Adults $10, children 7-15 $5.
