Door County Kids Triathlon Accepting Registrations

The fourth annual Door County Kids Triathlon is back Saturday, July 14.

The event, for ages 6 to 14, offers kids a chance to get the same big race experience as the hardened athletes of the Door County Triathlon. Last year 400 kids joined the fun, and this year’s registration is far ahead of the 2017 pace.

All participants get a t-shirt, swim cap and post-race ice cream sundae, plus awards for the top three finishers in each age group.

The event offers five age categories (6, 7 and 8, 9 and 10, 11 and 12, 13 and 14) as determined by the participant’s age as of Dec. 31, 2017. For six-year-olds the course includes a 50-yard swim, ½-mile bike ride, and ⅓-mile run. For ages 7 and 8, the course is a 100-yard swim, 1-mile bike ride and ½-mile run.

For ages 9 and 10, it’s a 100-yard swim, 2-mile bike ride, and ¾-mile run, and for ages 11 to 14, it’s a 200-yard swim, 5-mile bike ride, and 1-mile run.
