Door County League of Women Voters Hosts Two Events

• The Door County League of Women Voters will host a program on redistricting Oct. 12. The session, titled “Redistricting: Why it Matters and What I can Do About It” will be held at 7 pm at the Sevastopol Town Hall.

The redistricting process will begin in January 2011 and could include changes to congressional, state and local government districts. McCabe will explain how the process works at all three levels of government.

• 1st Assembly District candidates Dick Skare (D – Fish Creek) and Garey Bies (R – Sister Bay) will participate in a candidate forum Oct. 13. Organized by the League of Women Voters of Door County, the forum will be held at the Nasewaupee Town Hall at 7 pm.

• A public hearing to consider the County of Door’s application for federal aid for the Door County Transportation System will be held Oct. 8. The hearing will be held at the Door County Government Center at 421 Nebraska Street, Sturgeon Bay at 1 pm. The maximum federal share would be $278,859. Comments may be sent to Roger Tepe at 421 Nebraska Street, Sturgeon Bay by 4:30 pm on Oct. 8.
