Door County Libraries Host Annual Book Sale

“Lord! when you sell a man a book you don’t sell just twelve ounces of paper and ink and glue – you sell him a whole new life. Love and friendship and humour and ships at sea by night – there’s all heaven and earth in a book, a real book.” – Christopher Morley

The Friends of Door County Libraries Annual Book Sale will take place at the Door County Library, located at 107 S. 4th Avenue in Sturgeon Bay, and will kick off with a Special Advance Sale exclusively for Friends’ members on July 28 from 6 to 8:30 pm (non-members can join at the door for $5).
Public sale hours are July 29 – 30 from 9 am to 3:30 pm. The “two-bucks-a-bag” sale will begin at noon on Saturday.
The book sale selection is, as always, vast, wide-ranging and conveniently pre-sorted. Fiction and non-fiction categories include a range of best-selling authors like John Grisham, Stephen King, James Patterson and JD. Robb, large-format coffee table tomes, books on religion, handicrafts, humor, travel, and classics, as well as books on tape or CD, and, of course, a great array of paperbacks and children’s titles. A catalog of rare and vintage books also will be available for viewing upon request.
Tote bags bearing the Friends’ logo will also be on sale.
All proceeds from the Annual Book Sale are used to fund programs and projects at each of the eight Door County Libraries, typically totaling about $20,000 a year.
