Door County Library Offers Digital, Virtual Services

In this time of social distancing, libraries are offering a new, virtual way to apply for and renew library cards and to access digital library services without leaving home.

InfoSoup digital services are open to you even while [libraries] are closed,” said Evan Bend, library services manager with the Outagamie Waupaca Library System. Those who don’t have a library card can sign up for one online, and library staff will follow up with each applicant to provide a temporary library-card number and PIN to allow access to the library’s digital resources. To register for a card, complete an online application at InfoSoup.org/selfreg.

The Door County Library has also been creating a variety of virtual events on video or through live video chats, which are available on Facebook. Join Story Time, filled with read-along stories, songs and craft ideas for children; chat with your neighbors through the many book-club offerings; and engage in new virtual programming with local experts. Browse the groups and events at facebook.com/doorcountylibrary. To learn more about programming and additional resources, visit doorcountylibrary.org.
