Door County Medical Center Auxiliary Celebrates Volunteers at Luncheon

The Door County Medical Center (DCMC) Auxiliary, a group of volunteers dedicated to supporting the health care needs of the community, recently held their Annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon. The organization consists of more than 200 women and men who volunteer to improve the patient experience at DCMC.

The luncheon was held at Horseshoe Bay Golf Course, where members were updated on the year’s activities and successes. Two of the Auxiliary’s main fundraising events are the annual House and Garden Walk in July and the Angel Ball Gala in December. More than $38,000 was raised at the House and Garden Walk this year. These funds went to support the DCMC Dental Clinic, which provides dental care to low-income families. Last year’s Angel Ball raised $46,000 for scholarships for high school graduates pursuing medical careers and medical professionals pursuing advanced degrees. The Auxiliary also operates the Doorway Gift Shop in the hospital. All funds raised by the Auxiliary goes directly to supporting the hospital and scholarships.
