Door County News: Novel Ideas Hosts Books For Soldiers Weekend

Novel Ideas Bookstore is asking for everyone’s help in supporting our troops overseas. November 11 is the date when America honors all who have served the United States in war. In honor of Veterans Day, Novel Ideas will donate 10 percent of every purchase made from Friday, Nov. 7 through Monday, Nov. 10 to the Books For Soldiers program. This will help fund shipping for books that have been generously donated, care packages of additional books and help support the Books for Soldiers Web site. Monetary donations are gratefully accepted as well.

Since joining the program last winter, Novel Ideas has sent hundreds of books to our troops deployed outside the U.S. Many soldiers have written back with their thanks for the packages and support. Portions of these letters are displayed at the store.

Books for Soldiers is a federally approved, nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting our soldiers in the military that are currently stationed outside the United States. Books For Soldiers receives no government support and very limited corporate funding. It is primarily made possible due to the generosity of its members.

You can shop for the holidays and also help support our soldiers overseas at Novel Ideas, located at 8085 Hwy. 57 in Baileys Harbor. Please call 920.839.1300 for more information.
