Door County Nonprofits Awarded Funds through R. Bruce & Alyce S. Kopseker Trust

The Greater Green Bay Community Foundation awarded $45,000 through the R. Bruce & Alyce S. Kopseker Trust to five initiatives that help people more than 60 years old, living primarily north of Sturgeon Bay, remain healthy and independent in their homes. These five initiatives are: Washington Island Community Health Program; Door-Tran Inc.; Door County Memorial Hospital Ministry Health Care; Unity Hospice; and the Door County YMCA.

From 2014 to 2015, Door-Tran’s volunteer programs experienced an increase in need by more than 58 percent. “The increase in needs is much in part to the community learning more about Door-Tran and seeing how we work every day to break down the transportation barriers for Door County residents,” said Pam Busch, mobility manager for Door-Tran. “We have been able to increase services and meet additional demands due to a great team of donors, volunteers, partner providers and staff.”
