Door County Performance: Blues Duo Kicks Off “Art of Music” Winter Concert Series

Blues duo Joe and Vicki Price will be appearing at the Ladder House music room on January 9 for a candle light concert starting at 7:30 pm.

Joe and Vicki zero in on the very seeds of American roots, folk and blues. Joe combines driving rhythms, a reedy, raggedy rasp of a voice and exquisitely distilled tunesmithing. He performs with such meticulously-crafted guitar picking that even his instrumentals seem to tell discernible tales, while Vicki Price brings her own songwriting and soulful vocals to the stage. She plays second guitar to her husband in an exchange that has been likened to witnessing an intimate conversation. Make no mistake here – the creative, musical impact of this romantic pairing was and remains a bustling two-way street in nearly every way imaginable, and the artistic achievements of both partners are irrevocably intertwined.
