Door County Performances: TAP’s Barefoot Cast is Well-Heeled

Director Renee Kujawski has announced the cast for the TAPWorks production of Neil Simon’s romantic comedy Barefoot in the Park. The lead roles of newlyweds Paul and Corie Bratter will be played by Stu Champeau and Anne St. Henry.

St. Henry has quickly become a familiar face on the theater scene since moving to Door County in 2006. She first appeared at TAP in the 2007 production of On Golden Pond. She has subsequently performed in TAPWorks productions of The Good Doctor, It’s a Wonderful Life and A Christmas Carol. She was most recently seen in Isadoora Theatre Company’s musical She Loves Me.

Champeau, who is assuming his first leading role at Third Avenue Playhouse, has appeared in many local productions. He has played multiple characters over nine seasons with Paul Sills Story Theatre and currently has an ongoing part as Tony in Tony & Tina’s Wedding in the Fox Valley. Professionally, he has been seen in many television commercials, college recruitment videos and infomercials.

The role of Corie’s mother, Ethel Banks, will be played by Lynn Olson who was last seen at TAP in the December 2008 production of A Christmas Carol: The Radio Play. Victor Velasco, the Bratters’ colorful neighbor, will be played by Bill Bauernfeind. A retired teacher, Bauernfeind has been active in community theater since 1997. He was last seen in Isadoora Theatre Company’s She Loves Me. Harry Pepper, the telephone repairman, is portrayed by David Magle, and Margaret Magle plays the barely seen, but very funny, delivery person.
