Door County Photographers Invitational Opens

A new exhibition, “The Focus of Our Lives,” opens Saturday, July 26 at the Miller Art Museum; a public reception that evening from 7 – 8:30 pm celebrates the event. Many of the artists, who live in Door County or have ties here, will be in attendance. The exhibit continues through September 16.

More than 25 photographers responded to the invitation to participate in “The Focus of Our Lives.” Their work reflects the many options of subject and technology that photography offers today. Participants are Daniel Anderson, Joe Chambers, W. Joseph Christiansen, Dennis M. Connolly, Daniel Cross, Jeff Davis, Edward DiMaio, Hank Erdmann, Boyd Fellows, Heather Harle Frykman, Luke Frykman, David Harsh, Daniel M. Hatton, Aaron Hewitt, Frances Holt, Ben Konarzewski, Kathy Little, Roy Lukes, Phil McGuire, Christine Nesheim, Keith D. Nordahl, Leonard Quartetti, Suzanne Rose, Catherine (CJ) Sikora, Richard Steinberger, Laszlo A. Szakala, Len Villano, and Armando Zeledَn.

Images of children, natural wonders, evidence of mankind’s achievements, and dramatically enhanced scenes of the world are included in “The Focus of Our Lives.” This exhibition shows the range of expression available to someone with a camera. Professional or pursuing photography as avocation, these artists offer a wide world of observation.

This exhibition is sponsored by Jack and Lois Bauer and the Artists Guild, LLC.

The Miller Art Museum is located within the Door County Library at 107 S. 4th Avenue, Sturgeon Bay. Admission is free and the museum is fully accessible. Museum hours are Monday 10 am – 8 pm, Tuesday through Saturday 10 am – 5 pm, closed Sunday and holidays.
