Door County Ranks Among Best Counties to Own a Small Business

Door County ranked third-best of the state’s 72 counties – behind Pepin and Clark counties – to own a small business in 2022, according to a study released by the New York–based financial technology and advice company SmartAsset.

The designation is based on the number of small businesses operating in each county, how much income they generate and what they pay in taxes. Nationally, Door County came in at No. 1,172 – one of nine in Wisconsin to rank in the top 2,000.
