Door County Reading Council Features Sarah Brown at Discussion

The Door County Reading Council will present “Creating Student-Centered Conversations and Discussions” featuring Sarah Brown Wessling at the Stone Harbor Resort and Conference Center on Feb. 23, 5-7 pm.

The Door County Reading Council is proud to bring Sarah Brown Wessling to Sturgeon Bay for the first time. “Creating Student-Centered Conversations and Discussions” will promote deeper learning in the classroom. Sarah Brown Wessling is a 17-year veteran of the high school English classroom. While a member of the faculty at Johnston High School in Johnston, Iowa, she has taught courses ranging from at-risk to Advanced Placement and she has served the department and district in a variety of leadership roles. Wessling is a National Board Certified Teacher since 2005 and in 2010 she was selected as the National Teacher of the Year. In that capacity, she worked as an ambassador for education giving more than 250 talks and workshops in 39 different states as well as internationally. She is an author of Supporting Students in the Time of Core Standards.

Individuals are encouraged to pre-register for this event at dcreadingcouncil.wixsite.com/dcrc or at the door beginning at 4:30. There will be appetizers provided.
