The 2023 Door County Reads program will start this weekend with its official kickoff event. The selection this year is Andrew Graff’s Raft of Stars: the tale of two boys who run away into the wilds of northern Wisconsin and the people who are out searching for them.

Former Gibraltar teacher and outdoor enthusiast Ron Lang will be the featured speaker at the kickoff event, planned for Jan. 29, 2-4 pm, at the Kress Pavilion in Egg Harbor. Guests can enjoy music, snacks and nonalcoholic beverages.
Graff will visit Door County for a keynote presentation Feb. 4, 1 pm, at the Sturgeon Bay High School auditorium, and award-winning short-story writer Rebecca Meacham will join him.
The Door County Reads event lineup includes book discussions, movie screenings, panel discussions and more. Some programs are offered virtually and in person. Find all the details at doorcountylibrary.org/doorcountyreads.html.
