Door County Reads Selects “The Beekeeper’s Apprentice”

Door County is getting ready to read in 2013 thanks to support from the Door County Library Foundation, the Friends of Door County Libraries, library staff members and volunteers from community organizations and businesses. Start the year by reading The Beekeeper’s Apprentice by Laurie R. King along with hundreds of other Door County readers.

Stop by a branch of the Door County Library to pick up a free copy of The Beekeeper’s Apprentice, as long as supplies last. Extra copies of the book will be available for checkout through the library catalog at InfoSoup.org.

The Door County Reads Kick Off Celebration is set for Jan. 21, 7 – 8 pm, at the Door County Auditorium Fireside Room. Ed Christensen, a “Sherlockian,” will be the featured speaker.

Other activities are scheduled through Feb. 16. There will be special presentations, book discussions, film showings, music, theater, learning opportunities, geo-caching adventures, delicious honey treats, trivia contests, mystery-solving, door prizes and more.
