Door County Sheriff Terry Vogel Retiring at End of Term

• Door County Sheriff Terry Vogel announced he will retire at the end of his term, on Jan. 5, 2015.

“It has been an honor and a privilege to be the sheriff of Door County and I will forever remember the citizens who put their trust in me to lead this sheriff’s office which I am so proud of,” Vogel said in a press release.

Vogel had been in the position for 12 years, and has worked in county law enforcement for nearly 39 years.

“I mostly would like to thank the citizens of Door County who continue to stand up against crime and allow Door County to be one of the safest counties in the state of Wisconsin,” he said. “I look forward to spending time with my family and moving on to the next chapter of my life.”
