Door County Soccer Program Celebrates 30 Years

Door County Soccer Association is celebrating 30 years of kids having fun! The association was formed by a dedicated group of volunteers: Brad & Louse Andre, Gary Bellin, Roger Krueger, Paul Robinson, Ginny Rousseau, Bodo Schrader, and John Tomkins, along with the help of local businesses, The Optimist Club, and Door County Parks Department. This extremely popular organization is run by a dedicated group of volunteers to this day, as well as working coaches Scott Bader, Tracy Glasheen, Bob Desotelle, Matt Luders, and Dick Clark.

In celebration of the 30th anniversary, new uniforms featuring a special 30-year logo and decal will be available.

Programs this year include the popular program for five year olds, as well as age divisions all the way up to 18 years old. This year a new U18 division has been added with teams playing 4 on 4 on the micro fields on Wednesday nights. For more information or to sign up for programs, visit http://www.DoorSoccer.com.

Registration closes in April. The cost is $45 with family discounts available. Games are played primarily in Sturgeon Bay with additional games in Sister Bay, Baileys Harbor, and Washington Island. The season runs from June through July, ending with a special World Cup tournament.
