Door County Students Receive 4-H Key Awards

Matthew Frea, Kathleen Guilette and Claire Olson have been selected as the Door County 4-H Key Award recipients for 2016. The prestigious 4-H Key Award, one of the highest recognitions a 4-H member can receive, honors a select group of 4-H participants annually. The youth receiving this award are ones who have demonstrated consistent growth in their 4-H involvement, developed and applied their leadership skills and actively participated in their 4-H club and community.

According to Door County 4-H Youth Development agent Dawn VandeVoort, this year’s recipients exemplify the goals and values of the Wisconsin 4-H Program. “Our 4-H Key Award recipients for 2016 have all been active 4-H members and have demonstrated growth and leadership in their projects and been great role models for younger youth. They have participated in many community service projects through 4-H and are also very involved in school, church and community activities.”

Key Award recipients are high school students with at least three years of experience in 4-H and one year as a youth leader. The Wisconsin Farm Bureau and Rural Mutual Insurance Company sponsor the Wisconsin 4-H Key Award Program.
