Door County YMCA Announces Winners of Hometown Heroes Essay Contest

Who is your Hometown Hero?
If you’ve happened to walk the hallways of the Door County YMCA recently you will see there are many different answers to that exact question. As part of an awareness effort to help people realize the importance of their Annual Strong Kids Scholarship Campaign – which ensures that no one is ever turned away from the YMCA’s doors based on their financial situation – this was the question asked by the YMCA to thousands of grade school students from throughout Door County.
The winners from the essay contest are listed below. Each child will receive a gift certificate compliments of Target or McDonald’s. The Door County YMCA thanks them for their support and we appreciate all the children who shared with us who their Hometown Hero is!
