Door County YMCA Holding Annual Heritage Club Dinner

In celebration of those individuals and businesses who have supported the YMCA’s Endowment Fund, the Door County YMCA is holding its 5th Annual Heritage Club Dinner, Tuesday, October 28 at Maxwelton Braes in Baileys Harbor. Kent Johnson, COO of the YMCA of the USA will be the special guest keynote speaker.

The Heritage Club consists of over 350 individuals and couples who have contributed $1,000 or more to the Endowment Fund either in one lump sum or over a period of one to five years. The Endowment Fund is critical for the Door County YMCA to provide a stable source of revenue in good economic times and in bad.

The Door County YMCA currently has $2.6 million dollars in its Endowment Fund, which provides approximately $100,000 in income each year to be used to cover program and operating costs. The overall goal of the YMCA Endowment Fund is $6 million. A Board of Trustees oversees the operations of the Endowment Fund, which includes Ellsworth Peterson-Chariman, Carla Peterson, Ruth Barker, Hartley Barker, Cyndy Stiehl, Thomas Herlache, Paula Wright-Keller, Tom Beerntsen, Robert Schaupp and Wendell Ellsworth.

The Door County YMCA is also privileged to have 29 members in the Ruth & Hartley Barker Legacy Circle. These individuals, businesses and foundations have made an impact for generations to come by either contributing $10,000 or more directly to the Door County YMCA Endowment Fund or by making the YMCA a part of their estate plan with a planned gift of $20,000 or more.

The Door County YMCA welcomes anyone in the community to join us for the Heritage Club Dinner on October 28. This is an opportunity not only to learn more about the Endowment Fund, but also learn about the YMCA and its direction from Kent Johnson, COO of the YMCA of the USA. Seating is limited and reservations are required by October 21st. Cost of the dinner is $25 per person. To make a reservation contact the Door County YMCA at 920.743.4949.
